UFC Fight Night 40 in Cincinnati is already packed to the gills with fights that could be very exciting, and now there's another one that could be the best yet. Two middleweights that are looking to rebound from losses will meet on May 10th in the US Bank Arena. UFC.com has the news:
A rising star in the middleweight division, Lorenz Larkin will look to move into the 185-pound rankings should he defeat number 10 ranked Costas Philippou in Cincinnati on May 10.
The UFC Fight Night bout has been verbally agreed to by both parties.
Larkin (14-2) is 1-2 in the UFC thus far, and is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Brad Tavares at UFC Fight Night 35 in January. Philippou (12-4) had put together a strong winning streak in the middleweight division that moved him close to title contender status, but two straight losses at the hands of Francis Carmont and Luke Rockhold have cooled his jets considerably.
Both men will look to get back into the win column with a solid performance in this bout, which should take place on the main card. No main event has been confirmed for the card as of yet.
