Anthony Njokuani vs. Vinc Pichel added to UFC 173

Kyle Terada-US PRESSWIRE

Another lightweight bout has been added to the UFC 173 card scheduled for Memorial Day weekend in Las Vegas.

UFC 173 was already stacked with lightweight fights, and now another has been added to the May 24th card in Vegas. This one will likely involve some violence, with Anthony Njokuani taking on Vinc Pichel. UFC News on twitter has the info:

Njokuani (16-7, 1 NC) was a stalwart of the WEC's lightweight division before making the move over to the UFC after the merger. He has alternated wins and losses over his six UFC bouts, most recently knocking out Roger Bowling at UFC on Fox 7 last April.

Pichel (8-1) was a TUF 15 semi-finalist that lost his first UFC bout to Rustam Khabilov. He rebounded recently though, picking up a decision win over Garett Whiteley at UFC Fight Night 35 in January.

This bout is expected to take place on the event's preliminary card. UFC 173 will be headlined by a middleweight title fight between champion Chris Weidman and challenger Lyoto Machida.
