Saturday March 15, Bloody Elbow presents live fight coverage of Danny Garcia vs. Mauricio Herrera. Showtime Championship Boxing Garcia vs. Herrera airs live on Showtime this Saturday, March 15, with a fight time of 9:00 p.m. ET / 6:00 p.m. PT. Bloody Elbow will have live fight coverage, including results and discussion, right here.
This is being presented as a showcase fight for Garcia, and he has earned it. The undefeated 25 year old fighter has had an incredible run through recent years, and is coming off an amazing upset victory over Lucas Matthysse. Now, Garcia, who is of Puerto Rican decent, fights in Puerto Rico in a fight all built around Garcia himself. Those are always slightly dangerous fights, as Garcia has much to lose if he takes a win for granted, and you should not count Herrera entirely out - aside from Timothy Bradley, he is the only man to ever defeat Ruslan Provodnikov. Still, I expect this to be another win for the increasingly dominant Garcia.

The second featured fight on Showtime is another big one, as American Heavyweight prospect Deontay Wilder takes on Malik Scott. Like Garcia, Wilder is undefeated, and his 100% KO ratio is insane. There is always a search for that great American Heavyweight, and right now, it's Wilder who is wearing that mantle. We've seen so many of these "next big things" fall before reaching those heights, making 2014 a clutch year for Wilder.
Before the action begins on Showtime, there will be featured fights on Sho Extreme, and they deserve a mention. Headlining that card is Juan Manuel Lopez vs. Daniel Ponce De Leon, a battle between two one-time "future of the sport" type fighters who have both fallen on hard times. Still, that's a great fight. That card also features Daniel Jacobs vs. Milton Nunez. The Sho Extreme card starts at 7:00 p.m. ET.
