UFC fighter rankings: Michael Johnson rising at lightweight

Joe Camporeale-US PRESSWIRE

The latest UFC fighter rankings see lightweight Michael Johnson on the rise, and Brad Pickett ranked in a new division.

To be honest, not a lot happened in the newest set of the UFC fighter rankings following UFC Fight Night: Gustafsson vs. Manuwa. The main event winner was already in the number one contender spot, so there wasn't much higher to go. Two other main card winners did see some difference though, and there were a few minor changes elsewhere. So let's get to it.

You can check out the full rankings here, and use the dropdown menu to see the individual picks of the three BE contributors (myself, T.P. Grant, and Fraser Coffeen).

P4P - Lots of movement here for some reason. Demetrious Johnson moved back into the five spot, dropping Chris Weidman to six. Anderson Silva moved back ahead of Anthony Pettis for the number seven spot, with Pettis at eight. UFC 171 fighter Johny Hendricks moved up one spot to nine, bumping Ronda Rousey to ten. And UFC Fight Night winner Alexander Gustafsson moved up one spot to 13, bumping Gilbert Melendez to 14.

Heavyweight - Gabriel Gonzaga moved up one spot to 12, bumping Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira to 13.

Light Heavyweight - No changes.

Middleweight - No changes.

Welterweight - Demian Maia moved back up one spot to seven, dropping Matt Brown to eight.

Lightweight - Rafael dos Anjos moved up to five, dropping Nate Diaz down one spot to six. Michael Johnson's big win over Melvin Guillard helped him move up three spots to 11, bumping Edson Barboza, Bobby Green, and Rustam Khabilov all down one spot.

Featherweight - Conor McGregor moved back up one spot to 13, sending Tatsuya Kawajiri down to 14.

Bantamweight - Brad Pickett's move to flyweight caused him to drop seven spots to 13, but he's not off the list yet. This caused a bunch of movement. Takeya Mizugaki is up to six, Mike Easton to seven, Iuri Alcantara to eight, and Dominick Cruz is up to nine. Erik Perez moved up two spots to ten, passing Francisco Rivera. Alex Caceres is also up one spot to 12.

Flyweight - John Lineker moved up one spot to six, passing Jussier Formiga. Brad Pickett enters the list at 11. Louis Gaudinot actually dropped a spot to 12 despite a solid win on the Fight Night card. Scott Jorgensen dropped two spots to 14, while Darrell Montague dropped one spot to 15.

Women's Bantamweight - No changes.
