Alexander Gustafsson is on UFC Fight Pass next week, which of course is going to be used as the sticking point in wanting to put top fighters on international Fight Pass shows while sacrificing the little name value he actually has to North American audiences. We'll save that debate for another day and focus on the fact that he's fighting Jimi Manuwa in the main event of UFC Fight Night 37 in London, England. Gustafsson is expected to get a rematch with Jon Jones if he beats Manuwa and Jones beats Glover Teixeira, but if Manuwa can spoil the party then we have a new contender in a division lacking them.
The co-main event is a highly intriguing lightweight bout between Michael Johnson and Melvin Guillard, which is a hell of a lot better than watching Guillard defuse Ross Pearson again (only legally). Brad Pickett makes his flyweight debut against Neil Seery (in for the injured Ian McCall), while Gunnar Nelson makes his return vs. Omari Akhmedov.
Here's the full fight card for March 8th, all of it airs on Fight Pass, and it'll spark a "new era" of international UFC events as John Gooden and Dan Hardy make their commentary debuts, while Andy Friedlander handles ring announcer duties in place of Bruce Buffer:
