UFC president Dana White spoke to BT Sport and packed a lot into a little more than four minutes. Topics covered include: Gilbert Melendez staying in the UFC, Jose Aldo vs. Anthony Pettis, Ronda Rousey vs. Cris Cyborg, TRT, UFC Fight Night 38.
MMA Mania transcribed some key parts on TRT:
"When you really break it down and look at it. It's science. As you get older, your testosterone starts to get older and science has figured out a way to get it back up to even. But, like in all things, when money is involved, people will find ways to cheat. Even though this thing is legal, people have figured out how to cheat on it, so it has to go away.
"What it is, it ruins good fighters. Once you get on this stuff, or any type of steroid, you can't get off it. You have to continue to use it because once you start using it, your body stops producing it like it did before, so, it's definitely not good for you. It's made for 45, 60-year old men. That's what it's meant for. It's not meant for young well conditioned athletes."
And on the non-happening Ronda Rousey vs. Cris Cyborg bout:
"No. The Cyborg thing, I can't believe people are asking me about Cyborg, number one. First of all, she does not fight here. Everybody realizes that, right? See weighs 145 pounds and her genius manager, Tito Ortiz, said that she would die if she went to 135 pounds. She's also coming off a steroid suspension last time she was here. I can't even, it drives me nuts. She will not fight Cyborg. I don't know who she's going to fight. She's going to go film 'Entourage,' the movie, and then we will figure out what's next for her."
