UFC fighter rankings: Minor changes in new top 15 lists

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Spor

The kinks are still getting wrinkled out in the second version of UFC top 15 rankings.

UFC Fight Night 34 was pretty irrelevant in terms of the UFC fighter rankings, but there were still plenty of changes due to the new system being used. The rankings expanded from top 10 contender lists to top 15 at the start of the year, and this is the second update under that format. As a result, a few guys have bounced around.

First, let's look at the little that did change directly as a result of UFN 34, and it's only due to the top two fights. Main event winner Tarec Saffiedine moved up one spot to number nine, passing Martin Kampmann. And co-main event winner Tatsuya Kawajiri made his rankings debut in the 14 spot at featherweight. Now, let's look at the movement in the other divisions.

Pound-for-pound - Ronda Rousey passed Johny Hendricks to reclaim the number 10 spot, bumping Hendricks to 11.

Heavyweight - Antonio Silva moved back up a spot to number five, bumping Josh Barnett down to number six. Stipe Miocic also moved into a tie with Alistair Overeem for eighth.

Middleweight - Lorenz Larkin moved ahead of Chael Sonnen for the 13 spot, moving Chael down to 14.

Lightweight - Diego Sanchez dropped two spots to number 15, with Michael Johnson and Rustam Khabilov moving up one spot to 13 and 14 respectively.

Featherweight - Darren Elkins and Erik Koch flip-flopped the 10 and 11 spots again. With Kawajiri's entry at 14, Diego Brandao dropped one spot to 15.

Bantamweight - Erik Perez and Ivan Menjivar moved up one spot to 12 and 14 respectively. Bryan Caraway and Scott Jorgensen (WHO IS AT FLYWEIGHT, PANELISTS) dropped to 13 and 15.

Flyweight - Darrell Montague moved up one spot to 13, passing Darren Uyenoyama.
