Prior to his fight in Chicago, IL at UFC on Fox 10, lightweight Donald Cerrone claimed to have never seen video of his opponent Adriano Martins. His decision was generally criticized as Martins has proven himself a game and dangerous opponent. He showed that against Cerrone but couldn't avoid getting caught by a right head kick late in the first round. The blow put him to sleep before he even hit the ground and Cerrone got his hand raised.
As Cerrone had revealed that he took the fight for a quick turnaround in need of income, the win was much needed. He picked up his show money, his win bonus, and is a likely candidate for the $50K knockout of the night bonus. that should help him recover from being "broke."
Martins was coming off a submission win over fellow Fox 10 competitor Daron Cruickshank in his UFC debut. The knockout loss dropped him to 1-1 inside the Octagon.
