John Moraga vs. Darren Uyenoyama set for UFC on Fox 9

Gary A. Vasquez-US PRESSWIRE

The UFC's December event in Sacramento is even deeper now with the addition of a flyweight fight between John Moraga and Darren Uyenoyama.

UFC on Fox 9 in Sacramento was already one of the deeper cards of the year, and now there's another flyweight fight on the card to make it even more enticing. This one features a former 125-pound title challenger against a tough opponent. The UFC Tonight twitter account recently shared the news:

John Moraga (13-2) is coming off a late submission loss at the hands of UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson at UFC on Fox 8 in July. He is 2-1 overall in the UFC and is currently ranked as the number four challenger in the official UFC rankings.

Darren Uyenoyama (8-4) won his first two bouts in the UFC, but dropped his last one via TKO to Joseph Benavidez. He is 1-1 at flyweight in the promotion. Uyenoyama is currently ranked as the number ten challenger in the official UFC rankings.

The bout will take place on the preliminary card of the December 7th event in Northern California. The event will be headlined by a lightweight title bout between new champion Anthony Pettis and former Strikeforce champ Josh Thomson.
