UFC matchmakers went with the most logical route possible in setting up the most recent addition to UFC 167 on November 16th in Vegas - take two flightweights who looked dominant in their last bouts and match them up. Those two men are Tim Elliott and Ali Bagautinov. The UFC's twitter account shared the news:
Elliott (10-3-1) rebounded from a loss in his promotional debut by taking two straight decision wins, the most recent coming in emphatic fashion over Louis Gaudinot at UFC 164. He is currently ranked as the number seven contender in the official UFC rankings.
Bagautinov (11-2) made quite an impression in his UFC debut by knocking out Marcos Vinicius in the third round of their UFC Fight Night 28 bout earlier this month. The Dagestani fighter is currently on a nine-fight winning streak.
