UFC Fight Night: Teixeira vs. Bader fight card

David Banks-USA TODAY Sports

A look at the September 4th UFC Fight Night on Fox Sports 1, which features a light heavyweight main event between Glover Teixeira and Ryan Bader.

The UFC is back in Brazil next month and this time they'll be in Belo Horizonte, site of UFC 147 last year and now UFC Fight Night on Fox Sports 1 this year. Light heavyweights Glover Teixeira and Ryan Bader will fight in the main event, a bout re-booked after a knee injury forced Bader out of their scheduled UFC 160 clash. If Teixeira wins impressively then he is likely to get the next title shot against the winner of Jon Jones/Alexander Gustafsson later that month.

In the co-main event, Strikeforce standout Ronaldo Souza aims for his biggest MMA victory as he fights perennial top 10 middleweight Yushin Okami. "Jacare" easily submitted Chris Camozzi in his UFC debut, while Okami has won 3 in a row since his stunning loss to Tim Boetsch at UFC 144.

A flyweight fight between Joseph Benavidez and Jussier Formiga is the final featured fight on the main card, and Benavidez has looked outstanding since his title fight loss to Demetrious Johnson last year. Formiga notched his first UFC win with a decision victory over Chris Cariaso.

Just as a reminder, this event will lead directly into the premiere of The Ultimate Fighter 18: Team Rousey vs. Team Tate. So block off your Wednesday for roughly 4 hours of non-stop UFC action on Fox Sports 1.
