UFC 164: Henderson vs. Pettis - Live results and play-by-play for PPV main card

Live results and play-by-play for the main card of UFC 164. The night's main event is a rematch between Ben Henderson and Anthony Pettis for Henderson's UFC lightweight championship.

UFC 164 goes down tonight, live on pay-per-view. Before the PPV portion of the card kicks off at 10 p.m. there are six prelim bouts taking place on Facebook (6:30 p.m. ET) and Fox Sports 1 (8 p.m. ET).

This post will cover the action from the pay-per-view main card.

The night's main event is a rematch between Ben Henderson and Anthony Pettis for Henderson's UFC lightweight championship. Serving as the co-main event is a heavyweight bout between former UFC champions Frank Mir and Josh Barnett.

Featherweight contenders Clay Guida and Chad Mendes will square off in a bout that may have title shot implications. And rounding out the card is a heavyweight bout between Ben Rothwell and Brandon Vera and a featherweight bout between Erik Koch and Dustin Poirier.

Erik Koch vs. Dustin Poirier - Round 1 - Poirier lands some good shots right off the start of the round, Koch is to his back and he's looking to lock in a triangle. Poirier is locked in deep. Koch trying to lock in the choke and finish. Now he rolls and almost had the mount but he doesn't. Poirier pops free somehow. Poirier is in bad shape and now Koch locks the triangle back up again. Again Poirier gets out. Poirier with some more nice shots on the feet. Good straight left hand lands. Another and a big right hand. That right crushed Koch and he's down. Poirier jumps on him and he's firing away. Koch is eating a lot of shots. Poirier on top on the ground now and he moves to mount. D'arce is locked up. Koch is in trouble. Somehow he survives the round. Great, great round. 10-9 Poirier.

Round 2 -Koch trying to get going this round now. Poirier with a really nice straight shot. Now digs to the body. Poirier with a takedown. Poirier looks for a neck crank but can't get it. He is in full mount now. They end up back on the feet. Poirier with a few hard punches. 10-9 Poirier.

Round 3 -Poirier looking for the takedown. Poirier ends up on his back now and Koch is on top working some good elbows. Koch ends up on the back with about a minute left. Koch has it on the ground and needs the finish. Koch not able to get the finish. 10-9 Koch. Fantastic fight.

Official scorecards: 29-28, 29-27, 29-27. Dustin Poirier wins by unanimous decision.

Ben Rothwell vs. Brandon Vera - Round 1 - Rothwell moving forward and he's catching Vera with some punches over top of Vera's kicks. A lot of circling by Vera and Rothwell lands a good punch but does eat a left by Vera. Vera starting to land a bit now and move away but Rothwell is stalking. Leg kick by Vera. Massive low blow by Rothwell. Only one second left, so that's it for the round. 10-9 Rothwell.

Round 2 - Rothwell pushes him into the cage and lands a few knees to the body. Rothwell just pushing him into the cage and looking for openings. Good shot by Rothwell and a return shot by Vera. Right hand and an elbow from Rothwell. Vera throws a few punches now, landing well to the body. This isn't a good fight. 10-9 Rothwell.

Round 3 - Vera pushed into the cage again. Herb Dean telling them to work and then restarts them. Rothwell with some big uppercuts and now big rights, Vera is down and it's over! Ben Rothwell wins by TKO (punches), round 3.

Clay Guida vs. Chad Mendes - Round 1 - They're trading strikes early, Guida shoots about 2 minutes into the round and Mendes stuffs it and attacks with a guillotine. Guida scrambles his way out of a deep guillotine. Mendes gets the takedown with about a minute left in the round. Chad tries to take the back but can't get it and they end the round on the feet. 10-9 Mendes.

Round 2 - Mendes stuffs a takedown and lands a hard knee to the body. Now a knee as Guida tries to stand up lands to the head. Guida keeps shooting but he's not coming anywhere near getting the takedown. Mendes is really tagging him with some slick punches on the feet too. Guida looks outclassed and now Mendes has him down and is landing some punches against the cage. Back to the feet and Mendes takes another round.

Round 3 - Guida throwing punches and doesn't land but Mendes drops him with a right. Now he punches him against the cage. Back up and Mendes blasts him with some huge shots, Guida down and covering up as Mendes fires away and this one is over. Chad Mendes wins by TKO (punches), round 3.

Frank Mir vs. Josh Barnett - Round 1 - They don't touch gloves. Barnett is throwing early and now Mir is returning some really big shots. Heavy shots by Mir are landing. Barnett is landing too but Mir was landing the cleaner punches. Barnett with an uppercut and a knee to the body. Now Barnett trying to maul against the cage. Uppercut by Barnett. Barnett really landing some good shots and now he lands a big elbow and another knee to the body. Barnett landing hard now. Mir just seems stuck. Knee to the head by Barnett and it's over. Josh Barnett wins by TKO (knee), round 1.

UFC Lightweight Championship: Ben Henderson vs. Anthony Pettis - Round 1 - Henderson inside right way trying for the takedown. He can't get it as Pettis pulls him up. Leg kick by Henderson and another takedown attempt. Henderson with small kicks to the leg as he clinches but goes nowhere. Now a body kick by Pettis. Another body kick by Pettis lands very hard. Another body kick. And another. And another. This is a great strategy. Pettis tries some weird handstand kick and gets taken down. Pettis with an armbar! Henderson tapped! Anthony Pettis wins by submission (armbar), round 1.
