The UFC is quickly filling up the Fight For The Troops event set for November 6th in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Last night officials announced three more bouts for the Fox Sports 1 card, and they are as follows: Colton Smith/Michael Chiesa, Dennis Bermudez/Nik Lentz, and Francisco Rivera/George Roop:
As the tweet says, Smith (3-2) is an Army Ranger so it's no surprise that he's on this FFTT show. The TUF 16 winner was knocked out by Robert Whittaker at UFC 160. Meanwhile, TUF 15 winner Chiesa (9-1) had his undefeated professional record ended by Jorge Masvidal in a highly entertaining fight at UFC on Fox 8 in Seattle.
Bermudez (11-3) took a controversial split decision win over Max Holloway at UFC 160. The TUF 14 finalist has won 4 in a row since losing the finale to Diego Brandao in December 2011, including a Fight of the Year contender against Matt Grice at UFC 157. Lentz (24-5-2, 1 NC) has twice defeated a Brazilian in Brazil this year (Diego Nunes and Hacran Dias) and is 3-0 overall at featherweight. In 12 career UFC fights Lentz has never been on a UFC main card.
Rivera (9-2, 1 NC) knocked out Edwin Figueroa at UFC 156, and is unbeaten in 3 fights since the UFC re-signed him last year. However, his KO over Roland Delorme is a no contest because he failed his UFC 149 drug test. Roop (14-9-1) has won his last 2 fights at bantamweight, including a TKO over former WEC champion Brian Bowles. This fight was originally scheduled for UFC 166 but was moved to this card to make room for Sarah Kaufman/Jessica Eye.
