Chalk another one up for the self-proclaimed "bad guy".
After Chael Sonnen defeated Mauricio "Shogun" Rua on Saturday night in Boston, he wasted little time in calling for a fight with Wanderlei Silva. While that challenge hung in the air, Twitter was alight with fighters looking to face Sonnen in his next bout. One of those fighters was former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida.
At the post-fight press conference, Sonnen dismissed Machida’s challenge along with the challenge of Vitor Belfort, stating, "I would beat up Vitor on the way to the ring to kick Wanderlei's *ss, and I'll take care of the third guy whose name I've already forgotten on the way to the parking lot on the way to my afterparty."
It took a few days, but Machida has responded to Sonnen, tweeting:
@sonnench Where is your parking lot?I will meet you there,so you remember my name!— Lyoto Machida (@lyotomachidafw) August 21, 2013
Sonnen has been training with Mark Munoz at the Reign Training Center in Southern California, so that knowledge may help Machida to track down Sonnen, who seems to have gotten under Machida's skin.
