UFC lightweight Reza Madadi has been sentenced to 1.5 years in prison in his native Sweden after he was convicted of burglarizing a Stockholm store.

This past May we told that Swedish lightweight Reza Madadi was arrested for his alleged involvement in a "smash and grab" raid of a high end boutique store in Stockholm. Court documents revealed that he plead not guilty and faced up to 6 years in prison if convicted. According to MMANytt.se, Madadi was convicted of aggravated burglary, and sentenced to 18 months in jail today. MMA Fighting has more details on the arrest itself:

According to surveillance footage and legal documents, three masked men driving a black Audi parked outside Bottega Veneta at approximately 5:01 a.m. on May 24, broke the glass on the front door with a sledgehammer and entered the store. The trio piled numerous stolen handbags inside the vehicle then proceeded to drive away at 5:05 a.m.

Police later tracked the vehicle to a nearby garage in Akersberga, where Madadi was eventually arrested at 6:21 a.m. Broken glass matching the glass at the scene of the crime was discovered on Madadi's person.

Aftonbladet, one of Sweden's largest newspapers, has provided surveillance footage of the incident, which you can view below.

Madadi, considered Sweden's most popular MMA fighter, has a 2-1 UFC record with wins over Michael Johnson and Yoislandy Izquierdo, and a decision loss to Cristiano Marcello. There's no word yet on what the UFC plans (or has even planned) to do with him, and for the time being he has until September 6th to appeal the verdict.
