Chael Sonnen Talks Moving Camps, Shogun Rua, Vitor Belfort and More

On Saturday, August 17, Chael Sonnen will meet former UFC light heavyweight champion Maurico "Shogun" Rua in the main event of UFC Fight Night 26. The fight will mark Sonnen’s first fight camp that he based out of the Reign Training Center in Southern California.

Sonnen spoke to Fight Magazine about the move to Reign, working with UFC middleweight contender Mark Munoz and what the change has meant to him and his preparation for the upcoming bout.

During the conversation, Sonnen did not have much to say about Rua, other than "Shogun’s great."

While Sonnen was reserved in his remarks about Rua, he didn’t hold back when talking about Vitor Belfort:

Vitor had issued a challenge, which I accepted. I’ve challenged Vitor many times. He’s challenged me. My time has always been a little better than his. I challenge Vitor when he’s available; Vitor challenges me when I’m not. Vitor’s got a title too, and a title of number one contender is a good, important title. If he wants to put his title up I will definitely fight him.

Sonnen has said he will move back down to middleweight following Saturday’s fight with Rua.
