UFC 162 results: Gabriel Gonzaga knocks out Dave Herman in 17 seconds

Esther Lin for MMA Fighting

It took only 17 seconds for Gabriel Gonzaga to knock out Dave Herman in their UFC 162 heavyweight bout.

Gabriel Gonzaga and Dave Herman entered the octagon at UFC 162 trying to shake off some recent losses. Well, Gonzaga was certainly able to do that, and it only took 17 seconds. After Herman landed an inside leg kick, Napao responded with a perfectly placed counter punch right to Herman's jaw. Herman went down fast, and Gonzaga jumped him and pounded him out.

It was the fourth-fastest knockout in UFC heavyweight history.

Gonzaga moved to 10-6 in the UFC with the victory, and has won three out his last four. His only loss was to Travis Browne at the TUF 17 Finale. Herman dropped his fourth bout in a row and was returning from a marijuana suspension. You'd have to think that Herman will be exiting the UFC after that.
