For those less patient with Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s banter you can skip ahead to about the 4:40 mark in the video to hear a fan try and compare him to Anderson Silva. Obviously Mayweather's reaction is more bluster than truth as he immediately recognized Anderson Silva and why the fan is making that connection, but it's still an interesting barb in the constant war of words between the two combat sports.
Where other boxers are interested in mouthing off about showing up MMA fighters in big money superfights, Mayweather seems genuinely dismissive of the idea that he'd want anything to do with MMA or it's competitors. In some ways it's almost refreshing to hear a boxer who's not investing time into empty gestures towards fights he'll never be in (yes I realize I'm talking about Mayweather here).
I'm not sure where he gets his assertion that Anderson will need 22 years of dominance to be worth his time, as Mayweather and Silva started their pro fighting careers within a year of each other. I assume he's referring to his own amateur career, but just as likely is that he's using a little fuzzy math to make a somewhat grandiose point. Still it's interesting that a potential fight, and comparisons between the two of them, are beginning to arrive on the lips of fans and media as Anderson continues to talk about his own interest in boxing.
