The women's Bantamweights opened up the main card of UFC on FX 8. Carmouche was coming off a loss to champion Ronda Rousey in her UFC debut. Andrade was making her UFC debut after going 9-2 in her MMA career thus far.
After a tough first round, Carmouche took over in the second round. She took dominant position early in round 2 and started raining down blows. Andrade offered little resistance in putting her hands up to defend but it was enough to keep referee Herb Dean from stopping the fight. Finally, after 2 minutes of unanswered offense, Dean stepped in to stop the action.
Carmouche was competitive against Bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey in her UFC debut. In her second UFC bout, she came back from a disappointing first round to score the TKO victory and improve her career record to 9-3. Andrade had a big opportunity to fight against a former title challenger. Even though she lost, she put up a valiant effort and should get another chance inside the Octagon.
