Brian Stann recently retired from mixed martial arts because he didn't want to take any chances with his health, but he's certainly isn't hard up for work. The UFC has decided to put him in the announce booth for UFC 163 opposite Mike Goldberg, where he'll take over Joe Rogan's analyst job for the night. The news was reported recently by UFC Tonight.
Stann (12-6) was already working on Fuel TV and Fox as an analyst for their pre-fight shows and also did some post-fight work. It's unclear if he'll become a regular member of the announce team in the vein of fellow ex-fighter Kenny Florian, but he clearly seems well-suited to the work.
Stann, a former WEC light-heavyweight champion and middleweight contender in the UFC, gave up the sport after getting knocked out by Wanderlei Silva in his final bout at UFC on Fuel 8 earlier this year.
