Anderson Silva's manager says superfights still on the table

USA TODAY Sports

Ed Soares, manager of former UFC Middleweight champion Anderson Silva, says that despite Silva's UFC 162 loss to Chris Weidman, potential superfights against Georges St. Pierre, Jon Jones and even boxer Roy Jones, Jr. are still on Silva's 'to do' list.

Keep hope alive! That's the business Ed Soares is in. Well technically his job title is Anderson Silva's manager but he also moonlights in the moonbeams and rainbows game based on his latest interview with Sherdog radio. That's right, empty talk about "super fights" featuring Anderson Silva agains a list of unlikely but big name opponents, is no longer just Dana White's hobby.

Here's what Soares had to say:

"I think the superfights are still on the table. I think right now the superfights are in the future, but right now what should be on everyone's mind should be the rematch with Chris Weidman.

"If he comes back and beats Chris Weidman," Soares said, "I don't see the reason why the superfights can't happen.

"It's true," the manager said. "I mean, it could happen. Anything can happen."

Yes kiddies anything can happen but Anderson Silva fighting GSP or Jon Jones or Roy Jones, Jr. remain fairly remote possibilities unless or until Silva can get his belt back from Chris Weidman at UFC 168 in December. Weidman famously KO'd Silva a couple weeks back at UFC 162.
