UFC 162: Silva vs. Weidman drug tests come back clean

USA TODAY Sports

Last weekend's UFC 162 event had no fighters that tested positive for banned substances.

Every single one of the 22 fighters that competed on the UFC 162 card in Las Vegas last weekend passed their drug tests according to the Nevada State Athletic Commission. The commission recently sent out confirmation that every fighter on the card was tested for steroids and drugs, and no one was caught doing anything illegal.

Heavyweight Dave Herman was also asked to undergo additional testing before the fight due to his recent suspension for marijuana metabolites. He passed the test without incident.

Chris Leben was granted a TUE for Suboxone, the first one of that type ever issued by the commission. The TUF 1 competitor was suspended in 2011 for testing positive for oxycodone and oxymorphine. Suboxone is usually used to treat opoid dependency.

The main event of UFC 162 saw Chris Weidman knock out Anderson Silva to become the new UFC middleweight champion. The two men are set to rematch at UFC 168 in December.
