There have been many rumors about the UFC returning to the United Kingdom later this year. It appears that those rumors were true, and a hometown boy will be featured in the main event. October 26th is the date, Manchester is the location, and Michael Bisping vs. Mark Munoz will likely serve as the main event. MMA Junkie has the news:
MMA Junkie has learned from sources close to the event that Michael Bisping (24-5 MMA, 14-5 UFC) and Mark Munoz (13-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC) have verbally agreed to meet at an as-yet-unnamed UFC event tentatively scheduled for Oct. 26 in Manchester, England.
The bout is expected to serve as a five-round main event for the card, which is expected to take place at Manchester Arena (formerly known as Manchester Evening News Arena).
Munoz is coming off a huge win over Tim Boetsch at UFC 162, his first fight in over a year. Bisping's last fight saw him defeat Alan Belcher by decision at UFC 159. In the "new" middleweight division, the winner of this bout could be in line for a possible title shot so it will be a very relevant fight. It's not clear where this card will air, but my guess is that it will be an FS 1 event.
