Metamoris II: Knee Injury Forces Keenan Cornelius Out, Atos Teammate JT Torres Steps In

Another injury has hit the opening match of the Metamoris II card, forcing Keenan Cornelius out. His teammate JT Torres has stepped in to take his place.

Apparently repeated injuries ravaging a card isn't just limited to MMA, the opening match of the Metamoris card this Sunday legitimately seems to be cursed. It was originally going to feature Bill Cooper and Ryan Hall in a submission only match, but injury forced Hall to withdraw. Victor Estima, brother of Braulio Estima who is also on the card, stepped in for Hall.

Cooper was then removed for unprofessional conduct and Keenan Cornelius was brought in to replace Cooper, but now it appears Keenan has injured his knee and will also be forced out of the match as per Metamoris' Facebook page:

When warriors are preparing for a fight, things happen. Unfortunately Keenan Cornelius has been forced to withdraw from his scheduled Metamoris II appearance due to a knee injury. We wish him a speedy recovery and can't wait to see him compete again.

We are honored to have Jonathan "JT" Torres, aka "The Spiderman," step in to face Victor Estima this Sunday. Torres, representing Team Atos, is an amazing young prospect in the BJJ world with seven gold medals in major competitions.

Replacing Keenan is his teammate JT Torres of Atos. Torres and Keenan were teammates together at Team Lloyd Irvin, but left to train with Atos during the recent scandals. Torres is an accomplished competitor with a No Gi Pan Am a championship and a No Gi world championship at No Gi.
