Robbie Lawler won't be meeting the last Strikeforce welterweight champion at UFC on Fox 8 after all. Tarec Saffiedine, who was set to make his UFC debut at the July 27th event, has been injured and will be replaced by hard-hitting Siyar Bahadurzada. The UFC tweeted the news minutes ago:
Bahadurzada (21-5-1) is 1-1 in the UFC thus far. He made a big splash in his debut by knocking out Paulo Thiago in 42 seconds, but dropped a lackluster decision to Dong Hyun Kim in his last bout. Lawler (20-9, 1 NC) picked up a huge TKO win over Josh Koscheck in his last bout, the first time he had stepped into the octagon in over eight years.
It's not clear if the bout will remain on the main card of the Seattle event or not. Another main card bout featuring Miesha Tate and Liz Carmouche was recently scrapped due to Tate taking Cat Zingano's place on TUF 18. Carmouche will now face Jessica Andrade on the card, but that's not expected to be on the main card.
