UFC 163: Aldo vs. Pettis fight card shaping up

USA TODAY Sports

A look at the early card for UFC 163, which goes down August 3rd in Brazil.

One of the UFC's biggest events of the summer will take place in the HSBC Center in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on August 3rd. UFC 163 will feature a highly-anticipated featherweight title fight on top with champion Jose Aldo defending against former lightweight Anthony Pettis. Pettis was in line for a LW title shot, but asked to drop down to face Aldo and his wish was granted.

The co-main event hasn't been nailed down yet, but it could likely be the most recent fight announced for the card. Lyoto Machida will look to bolster his position for another UFC light heavyweight title shot when he meets Phil Davis. Another sure main card fight will take place in the welterweight division with the streaking Demian Maia taking on Josh Koscheck.

Here's a look at the very early card:

Jose Aldo vs. Anthony Pettis {FW Title]
Lyoto Machida vs. Phil Davis
Josh Koscheck vs. Demian Maia
Thales Leites vs. Tom Watson
Vinny Magalhaes vs. Anthony Perosh
Cezar Ferreira vs. Clint Hester
Neil Magny vs. Sergio Moraes
