Nandor Guelmino vs. Derrick Lewis slated for UFC on Fox Sports 1 event in Indianapolis

Mark D. Smith-USA TODAY Sports

No, your eyes aren't deceiving you, Nandor Guelmino has made it to the UFC.

UFC on Fox Sports 1: Condit vs. Kampmann has received its first and only heavyweight addition to the August 28th card in Indianapolis, Indiana. Former Strikeforce fighter Nandor Guelmino is indeed in the UFC and he will fight another promotional newcomer in Derrick Lewis. MMA Junkie reported the bout last night and the UFC essentially confirmed it by adding Guelmino and Lewis to their online roster.

Guelmino (11-4-1) fought exclusively on the European circuit, and after a mediocre 4-3-1 start to his career (including losses to Semmy Schilt and Andreas Kraniotakes), the Austrian rattled off 7 straight wins. With Josh Barnett needing a fight to close out his Strikeforce career, Guelmino was chosen to fight the War Master this past January. Predictably, he lost by 1st round submission to end his winning streak.

Lewis (9-2, 1 NC) is unbeaten in his last 6 fights, and "The Black Beast" has lost only to Tony Johnson and Shawn Jordan in his MMA career. Derrick's last two fights took place on Legacy FC shows, including a KO win over Jared Rosholt.

UFC on FS1 2 now has 13 fights, which should complete the lineup.
