Chael Sonnen: 'Little Chicken Belly Nog' pulled a 'scumbag move' pulling out of Shogun fight

Jonathan Ferrey

Chael Sonnen is up to his usual tricks, insulting one of the Nogueira brothers after he replaced him in a fight against Shogun Rua.

Another day, another bombastic Chael Sonnen quote. Sonnen's next fight is against Mauricio Rua at UFC on Fox 1 1, and he got the bout because Antonio Rogerio Nogueira had to pull out of a fight with Shogun at UFC 161 just a couple of weeks before the bout. Even though Sonnen has already secured the fight he apparently couldn't resist taking a shot at Nogueira, who along with his bigger brother has become on of Chael's favorite targets. Here's what he had to say to The Telegraph:

"Little Chicken Belly Nog pulled the same scumbag move that he does every time, lets the UFC put out posters, commercials, doing everything to promote him, knowing full well he's not going to do the fight.

Once again he calls in sick, three weeks early. In no industry on earth can you do that. Nobody can call their boss and say 'Hey, boss, 20 days from now, I'm not going to feel good'. So he calls in sick three weeks early... it was a ruse from the beginning, and basically, I just wanted to help out."

Chicken belly? Uh, okay. I generally don't mind it when Sonnen runs his mouth because it's amusing to me. I realize that a lot of people don't find him funny though, and that's fine. But it seems that he has something new to say nearly every day now, and it's overkill to me at this point. I guess he does have a fight coming up though, so I wouldn't expect the rhetoric to be toned down at all between now and August 17th.
