Paulo Miyao and Keenan Cornelius are no strangers, they have meet in competition many times. Miyao, a Light Featerweight, has used his inverted guard and berimbolo skills to dominate the division, while Keenan has been on a seemingly unstoppable march of collecting gold medals in both the Medium-Heavy division and the Absolute.
Miyao has a history of facing Keenan in the finals of Absolutes divisions and losing rather dull matches. In their most recent meeting at the Abu Dhabi Pro tournament both fighters were DQ'ed for lack of action. This match would prove different as both grapplers engaged and this time Miyao emerged the winner.
While this wasn't the most thrilling match of the day Keenan looking far more willing to work in Miyao's guard. Both grapplers are now training with Atos schools; Keenan with Andre Galvao and Miyao with the Mendes brothers and it appears both are opening up their games a bit.
