We all know what he said and it's been hashed out in another thread already so let's leave that there. I'm just curious as to what everybody thinks of his timely move.
Tomorrow night is his last fight on his contract, he's chosen not to renew with the UFC until after the Stipe Miocic fight. Is this part of a plan for him to have the UFC not make him an offer so he can go elsewhere or just not watching his mouth while on camera?
I know Roy Nelson doesn't command Anderson Silva Money and that WSOF and Bellator can completely afford him at his current rate. He's popular and has some of the best KOs in recent memory.
So what happens from here? Does the UFC deal with it, make him an offer and resign him or do they let him draw eyes to another promotion over these comments?
My Call: Business as usual. He's got enough of a following and a track record of putting up highlight KOs (and receivings of serious ass kickings) and the UFC will ignore the comments and resign him with an attractive offer rather than watch him boost an audience with another promotion.
