We've known for quite some time that Irishman Conor McGregor would be fighting in Boston this summer after his sensational debut in April, and now we know his opponent. McGregor will be taking on Englishman Andy Ogle at UFC on Fox Sports 1: Boston on August 17th, a matchup made official by the UFC earlier today via Twitter:
McGregor (13-2) is on a nine fight winning streak, having won both the Cage Warriors featherweight and lightweight belts. He entered the UFC as a featherweight, stopping Marcus Brimage in just under 70 seconds to earn an impressive win as well as a $60,000 KOTN bonus. All 13 of his wins have come via stoppage, 11 of them by KO/TKO.
Ogle (9-2) made it to the semifinals of TUF 15 before losing to Al Iaquinta by TKO. His official UFC debut was made in Nottingham last September, losing a controversial split decision to Akira Corassani. Ogle notched one for the win column in February against Josh Grispi.
This featherweight bout will air on the main card.
