The UFC will have two live shows on Fox Sports 1 this August -- one on Saturday, August 17th in Boston and another one on Wednesday, August 28th in Indianapolis. We're still waiting on the main event for the Boston show, but the UFC has booked a fantastic rematch for their return to Indianapolis. AJ Perez of Fox Sports confirms welterweight contenders Carlos Condit and Martin Kampmann will meet once again, but this time it's a five round main event. Kampmann had this to say in an interview with FOXSports.com:
"He's going to have his rematch," Kampmann told FOXSports.com. "It's going to be a different fight. I'm a different fighter. He's a different fighter. We had a good scrap last time, and this time it'll be five rounds. That'll give me plenty of time to get the finish."
Condit (28-7) and Kampmann (20-6) fought each other in the main event of UFC Fight Night 18 in Nashville on April 1st, 2009. It was a back-and-forth main event that saw Condit lose his UFC debut to Kampmann by split decision. Both men have lost their most recent fight to Johny Hendricks -- Condit lost a thrilling FOTN against him at UFC 158, while Kampmann was flattened in the 1st round at UFC 154.
Just as a reminder, while the UFC is holding a Saturday event on August 17th to help launch Fox Sports 1, Wednesdays will be the primary day for live and taped UFC programming. This card will serve as the first Wednesday show on the new channel. We'll bring you more fight announcements as they come, and there are already reports surfacing that Bubba McDaniel will face Magnus Cedenblad in this event.
