Brendan Schaub is preparing for his UFC on Fox 8 bout with Matt Mitrione, who he considers a friend. He did an interview with Rick J Lee where he talks a bit about the bout and about Mitrione's unfortunate comments regarding Fallon Fox that led to a fine and suspension. He even throws out an offer to Fox. Here's what he had to say about accepting the fight with Mitrione:
"It is a business of entertainment. I love Matt, Matt knows this, I wish I could fight any other heavyweight, but you just can't. One thing I can guarantee is Matt and I will put on a show."
Schaub continues by talking a bit about his win over Lavar Johnson and comments that he shouldn't be known as a "knockout artist" because he can do it all. He also discusses his match with Roberto "Cyborg" Abreu at Metamoris. He then threw out the offer to Fox (though he couldn't remember her name and ended up screwing it up even when someone told it to him):
"Matt's a fan favorite too, it might have went down a little bit with his last comments (about Fox). "I'm going to throw an offer to (Fallon Fox). If you want to help me get Matt Mitrione back, open invitation to come train. Help me out."
UFC on Fox 8 takes place on July 27th in Seattle's Key Arena, and features a UFC flyweight title fight between Demetrious Johnson and John Moraga on top. Schaub's fight with Mitrione could serve as the featured fight on the prelims.
