In the main event of UFC 160, Cain Velasquez looked to earn his first successful title defense against Antonio Silva. Silva was looking to avenge a loss to Cain in their first bout, but it didn't exactly work out the way he wanted. Velasquez was on him quickly, and the fight ended in just 81 seconds.
After bunking off two Velasquez takedown attempts, Silva dropped from a Velasquez left hand. Silva was stepping in and Cain just blasted him. The rest of the fight seemed predictable after that. Velasquez followed up with his typical brutal ground and pound to finish the fight. The finish came at just 1:21 of the first round. Some feel the stoppage might have been a bit early and Silva did protest a bit, but it didn't look too bad.
Velaquez (12-1) will probably face off with co-main event fighter Junior dos Santos next after Cigano knocked out Mark Hunt. This will be their third bout, with each man taking one of the first two.
