UFC 160: Silva vs. Velasquez live results and play-by-play for the main card

Live results and thoughts for the main card of UFC 160 from Vegas, with the UFC heavyweight title on the line in the main event.

Join us at Bloody Elbow for live results, play-by-play, and commentary of the entire UFC 160 event today from Las Vegas. The event will kick off with seven preliminary card fights followed by a main card featuring five bouts. The first three bouts will be streamed live on Facebook, and that stream kicks off at approximately 6:35pm ET/3:35pm PT. They flip things over to FX at 8pm ET/5pm ET for the other four preliminary card fights, then finally move onto pay per view for the main card at 9pm ET/6pm PT. This post will cover the main card.

The main event of UFC 160 will be a showdown for the UFC heavyweight title when Cain Velasquez meets Antonio Silva. The co-main is a battle for the next shot at that very title with former champ Junior dos Santos taking on Mark Hunt.

Donald Cerrone vs. K.J. Noons

Round 1 - Noons came out kicking. Cerrone came in with a takedown attempt and landed a huge knee to the dome. Noons was really kicking, while Cerrone was mixing it up. Noons looked to jab a bit but didn't have his range. He opted for a few body shots instead. Cerrone was throwing strong leg kicks and scored with a knee to the body. Noons had a slight cut on the side of his eye. Cerrone got a quick takedown, and caught Noons coming up. Cerrone landed a big leg kick as Noons changed his stance. Another knee to the body from Cerrone. Right over the top from Noons. Cerrone mixed it up and landed a big head kick after some light punches. Spinning back kick from KJ. 10-9 Cerrone.

Round 2 - Cerrone got a very quick takedown. Cerrone took his back but Noons slithered away, eating a knee on the way. Noons stuffed another attempt. Cerrone landed a nice jab. Big right from Noons, and a leg kick for good measure. In tight, he went to Cerrone's body a bit. Noons seemed bothered by the blood in his eye. The two men exchanges big rights, followed by a Cerrone knee. Noons finding a home for his right hook. Spinning backfist from Noons landed hard. Cerrone timed an attempt perfectly and took Noons down. Cowboy worked from half guard. Another round for Cerrone.

Round 3 - Noons slowed down a lot, but landed a few rights. He tried to egg Cerrone on, but Cerrone just took him down and landed some elbows. Cowboy landed a bunch of gnarly elbows. Noons looked to get up but Cerrone kept him there. Lots of blood. Cerrone mixed it up, going to the body and the head in KJ's full guard. Noons tried to scramble up again but Cerrone moved to half guard. He eventually moved to side and played in his blood for a while before the final horn. 10-9 Cerrone, and 30-27 overall.

T.J. Grant vs. Gray Maynard

Round 1 - Maynard came out swinging early, landing a few big shots that got Grant's attention. Grant came back with two of his own. Basically the two men were just exchanging rights and backing the other one off. Grant went to the body, then to the head and that dropped Maynard. He's all over him! Maynard got back up, but got dropped again! And again! Holy crap! That one put him out! T.J GRANT GETS A TITLE SHOT! I WANT TO SWEAR BUT I CAN'T! T.J. Grant defeated Gray Maynard by TKO (strikes), 2:07 of round 1

James Te Huna vs. Glover Teixeira

Round 1 - As expected, they came out throwing. Glover went for a takedown but got stuffed. Teixeira landed a nice combo. That was all in the first 15 seconds. Glover with a big overhand right. And another. Te Huna snuck in an uppercut. Glover got a takedown and worked in half guard. Te Huna got back up halfway through the round. Teixeira dropped for a guillotine, and he got the tap! Wow! Glover Teixeira defeated James Te Huna by submission (guillotine choke), 2:38 of round 1

Junior dos Santos vs. Mark Hunt

Round 1 - Hunt leads with a big leg kick. Junior with a big right that Hunt mostly evades. Junior with a body shot, Hunt with a counter left. Hunt came forward with a left. Junior floored Hunt with a looping right! Holy crap! Hunt's right back up! Hunt missed with two huge punches. JDS with a jab to the body and a leg kick. Hunt with a jab, Junior with the counter right. JDS has a small cut over his eye. Spinning backfist lands for Hunt, Junior responded with a left hook. JDS landed the looping right again! 10-9 Dos Santos.

Round 2 - Hunt with a right that landed. JDS landed to the ear again, and Hunt's ear is bleeding. JDS threw some jabs to the body. Hunt spun Junior around with a kick and landed a left hook. Hunt's starting to time his left hook well, and landed a few leg kicks. The same overhand right lands again for Junior, and he followed it up with a stinging jab. And another. JDS was doing well to stay out of Hunt's range, but ate some strikes now and again. Hunt landed a big left and right against the cage. Dos Santos got a takedown. Cigano threw some elbows, but Hunt covered up well. JDS moved to side control and landed elbows, but Hunt got up at the horn. 10-9 JDS once again.

Round 3 - Hunt missed with the home run punch. His ear is leaking blood. Junior was looking for straight punches to the body and jabs. Hunt landed a left hook and a couple of kicks. Junior with a rare kick. JDS went back to the jab and missed with the overhand right. Dos Santos landed a nifty back elbow on the inside, and continued with the piston jab. Hunt looked to be slowing down a bit and Dos Santos was getting busier. Nice uppercut from Junior. Hue left hook from JDS had Hunt backing off, but he came back swinging right away. OH MY GOD JUNIOR JUST LANDED A SPINNING BACK KICK TO THE HEAD AND LAID HUNT OUT! WTF! It looked like it missed, but it caught him right in the forehead! One more punch and it was over! I cannot believe what I just saw! Junior dos Santos defeated Mark Hunt via knockout (kick/punch), 4:18, round 3

Cain Velasquez vs. Antonio Silva

Round 1 - Cain looked for a takedown right away, but Silva escaped. Silva looked to tie up but caught a side kick. Huge right drops Silva as he's coming in and Cain's all over him! Cain pounding on the side of his head! The ref jumps in and it's over just like that! That was devastation. Cain Velasquez defeated Antonio Silva by TKO (strikes), 1:21 of round 1
