Vitor Belfort is coming off one of the best knockouts you'll see all year at UFC on FX 8, but has been dogged by repeated questions and media statements regarding his use of controversial testosterone replacement therapy. At the UFC on FX 8 press conference, Belfort did not handle the inevitable questions well and went off on a bit of a tirade. He asked someone to beat up the reporter bringing up TRT, and repeatedly said he was boring and he wouldn't address the issue. It certainly was a poor way to deal with it, and Belfort took to twitter today to apologize for his actions:
To all my fans and to all the reporters that was there on the after press conference I would like to ask for forgiveness the way I answer about TRT I RECOGNIZE THAT I ANWSER IN A IMMATURE WAY BUT WAS THE 10 th time that that reporter ask the same question. No excuse!! I made a WORNG call and I am here to ask for forgiveness God bless all you guys love to do what I do and I am keeping moving UP SEEKING GROW AS A MEN OF GOD AND AS A FIGHTER "DONT DOUT ME I WILL PROUVE U WORNG" PEACE
Belfort (23-10) knocked out Luke Rockhold with a spinning kick in the main event of the card in Brazil. He could be in line for a title shot with consecutive wins over Rockhold and Michael Bisping, but clearly the TRT issue will continue to follow him going forward.
