1st .. Carlson Gracie thought so much of a young Vitor that he had/wanted his last name changed to Gracie. If you don't know who Carlson Gracie is.. then do your self a favor and read everything you can on him. He might not have started the UFC but his style and the work he put into the first real MMA team has done more for the sport than anyone. If he believed so much in the "phenom" then.. why is everyone putting so much into the TRT debate now..
2nd.. I'll tell you.. Luke Rockhold. Having no way of drumming up PR for his fight by way of his own accomplishments , (ie interesting fights) he used TRT as a way of getting fans to respond and feel some drama for his first fight. And when he fell as spectacularly as every fighter that loses to VItor does...
3rd.. He responded by saying his KO wasn't attributed to TRT.. THE timing, speed, and natural ability of Belfort (What Carlson first saw in him) was. Consider that the fans still up in arms about this were trolled by one Luke Rockhold. Why this worked?
4th.. Luke knew that talk of a higher power and drug abuse gets everyone up in arms (look at the caraway situation). Fact and yeah I'm saying FACT is that most of these fighters are using steroids and some form of cheating. Look no further than the golden boy GSP or Chael.. everyone is doing this on some level. If you know a friend that benches 300 lb plus... Probably did something at some point. which brings me to the final and most important point.
5th... Hating on Vitor because he has faith in some religion is just down right dangerous. I don't believe that steroids are ok, I don't believe its ok to cheat, and I'm not someone who has ever believed in religion or god. I am sure tho that believing in something like god is being a better person than demonizing someone else for doing that. I have never heard Vitor explain that you the fan are a loser or less than him for not believing in a higher power. Most professional athletes do believe in god. Who are you to judge? You like me have not been born with VItor's natural abilities. You probably have not been through the gambit of social, physical, and family problems that he has. If a belief in a religion has helped him become the beast at middleweight that he is.. I'm god/jesus/phenom fearing now!
I don't agree with TRT, steroids, Jesus abuse, or more importantly hating a system or set of rules I can't change.. I like to watch UFC and MMA. IF you don't like the first three,, well TUF.
BTW the folks that say Chael hasn't been busted for steroids and therefore TRT isn't a bit deal.. . His back was covered with acne a couple years ago... that happens with the most powerful anabolic.. trenbalone.
