MMA is a sport that we all love and support in small niche communities, like Bloody Elbow, but remains to be looked at with a negative stigma by the mainstream public. They view MMA as barbaric, animalistic, and savage. While true fans understand that this is far from the reality that is mixed martial arts, it's understandable how a drive-by viewer could see fighting in such a way.
Unfortunately, this is, in large part, a result of the type of people who are portrayed as 'stereotypical MMA fans'. Bloody Elbow is, in my opinion, the anti-stereotype, providing a community of MMA fans who stand completely in contrast with what a outside viewer would expect. A group of fans who don't watch MMA to see blood or brutal beat-downs, but rather to enjoy/appreciate the technique, artistry, and heart exhibited by the fighters who have dedicated their lives to the sport we love so much.
It is for that reason that I want to extend an invitation for all of you to check out my blog, Real Radio. I'm not claiming to know more about MMA than anybody else, nor am I painting myself as any sort of expert. I am, however, confident that I love this sport for the right reasons, and my passion can't be questioned. I encourage you to check out my most recent article, "MMA - A War of Attrition" by hitting the link below. The article is geared towards new fans who don't have much experience with MMA, but hopefully you guys can get behind what I'm trying to do and show some support. I appreciate your attention and am a huge fan of this site/everyone involved.
