It appears that Pat Healy cost himself a lot more than just a win when he tested positive for marijuana metabolites after UFC 159. The ex-Strikeforce fighter defeated Jim Miller by submission at the event, and picked up a total of $130,000 in performance bonus money for the win - 65k for fight of the night, and 65k for submission of the night. But it looks like it's all gone now, and Bryan Caraway ended up with some of it instead. UFC president Dana White explained in a response to a question on twitter:
@_royy it's known up front that checks are held until everyone passes the drug test. Brian Caraway get the SON now. Healy did himself dirty.— Dana White (@danawhite) May 15, 2013
Caraway (18-6) submitted Johnny Bedford with a guillotine just 16 seconds before the final horn of their UFC 159 bantamweight bout. Obviously the other 65k won't go to someone else since Jim Miller was issued his own FOTN check. I wonder what the UFC does with that now? Regardless, Healy really hurt himself with the failed test and is now suspended for 90 days to boot.
