Diego Brandao took another step up the featherweight latter in his UFC on Fuel 9 fight with Pablo Garza today, submitting him in the first round with an arm triangle choke. Garza was never really able to get anything going and Brandao showed some impressive grappling chops to get the tap. The finish came at 3:27 of the first round.
Brandao got off to a more measured start that usual and was looking to get inside on the taller Graza. Brandao busted him up against the cage for a bit, then got a big takedown. He used some shifty moves to get pass Garza's guard until he was out into side control. Brandao methodically set up an arm traingle, and Garza was forced to tap. Excellent performance fromthe TUF winner.
Brandao improved to 3-1 in the UFC with the win, while Garza fell to 3-3.
