UFC 161 adds Alexis Davis vs. Rosi Sexton to fight lineup

Greg Bartram-US PRESSWIRE

Canada will gets its first ever UFC women's fight this June in Winnipeg, as Alexis Davis fights Rosi Sexton at UFC 161.

The UFC 161 lineup appears to be complete with the addition of women's bantamweights Alexis Davis and Rosi Sexton. UFC Canada officials announced the matchup on Twitter:

Davis (13-5) has won both of her Invicta fights by submission, including avenging an earlier loss to Shayna Baszler with a 3rd round RNC stoppage. She's also defeated current UFC fighters Amanda Nunes and Julie Kedzie while still in Strikeforce.

Sexton (13-2) is a Cage Warriors veteran currently on a three fight winning streak. While she competes primarily at flyweight and is currently the #2 ranked women's 125er in the world (behind other new signing Sheila Gaff), the UFC only has the 135 lbs division for women's MMA. You may recall Sexton recently wrote a highly intriguing piece on her blog regarding Fallon Fox.

Ariel Helwani reports that this fight will air on the PPV main card.
