Luke Rockhold: 'I got more heart than Vitor. I think I’m more of a man;' TRT exemption 'a crock of s**t'

Scott Olmos-US PRESSWIRE

Luke Rockhold says that he had advantages over Vitor Belfort in every aspect of the fight, but also says that he's "more of a man" than the former UFC champion. In addition, Rockhold took a shot at Vitor's TRT usage.

Luke Rockhold was the last man to hold the Strikeforce middleweight title when the promotion was finally shut down and the majority of the roster absorbed into the UFC and now he takes on Vitor Belfort at UFC on FX 8 next month.

Rockhold has seen fellow Strikeforce champion Gilbert Melendez come into the UFC and get an immediate title shot, so he recently told MMA Fight Corner that he sees no way that a win over Belfort doesn't earn him a title shot against long-time champ Anderson Silva.

But Rockhold also had some pretty strong words for Vitor in terms of where his advantages lie:

"I think my advantages is everywhere really. Vitor will always have fast hands, he has good power, but I pose a lot of problems myself. I’m a longer fighter, I have better kicks than him. I believe my advantages are on the ground, in wrestling, in the distance in the stand up. I have plenty of ways to win this fight. And most of all, I got more heart than Vitor. I think I’m more of a man than Vitor."

And he also made it clear that he isn't a big fan of VItor's Testosterone Replacement Therapy:

"I think it’s a crock of s*** personally. I don’t understand it," Luke said of Vitor’s TRT exemption. "I think Nevada set the standard for most of the other states. And it’s like the NBA and Baseball, if they travel overseas, they’re not going to be permitted to use steroids just because they’re overseas. I think it’s just crap. But at the same time, if they’re not going to punish him, I will. And I believe it hurts you in more ways than it helps you."
