UFC 159 results: Roy Nelson blasts Cheick Kongo with overhand right for the KO win

Roy Nelson scored his 5th knockout victory in the Octagon with a big overhand right that dropped Kongo two minutes into the first round.

In the only Heavyweight fight of the card, Roy Nelson and Cheick Kongo faced off in the Octagon at UFC 159.

Roy Nelson came out early looking for a takedown in round 1. After about 90 seconds in the clinch referee Kevin Mulhall separated the fighters. Roy came forwarded and landed his patented overhand right hand that dropped Kongo to the mat. Kongo tried to roll forward into a single leg, but a follow up punch from Nelson ended the fight.

Roy Nelson knocked out Cheick Kongo at 2:03 of round 1.
