I may not be ordering the event, but that doesn't mean I can't bet on it right? UFC 159 looks like it has a few opportunities to make some coin, and I desperately need to make money since I'm way down this year (and this vacation wasn't cheap!). Normally the undercard is where the most value sits for UFC events in my eyes but I like the main card here too. Here's a look at the whole list of lines (via BestFightOdds):.
First off, Michael Bisping is criminally underrated in terms of odds here. Like our own Fraser Coffeen said in the staff predictions, people always seem to underrate Bisping and overrate Alan Belcher. I believe Bisping has him everywhere and should take a comfortable win, and getting him at anything under -200 is good business. -165? Yes please.
Also on the main card, I like Roy Nelson around -230. Big Country's not going to get knocked out or outwrestled, and what else can Cheick Kongo to win? Win a technical striking decision? Maybe, but I don't see it.
As for the undercard, there are a few tasty morsels there too. Leonard Garcia at -175 isn't too bad, considering this is the most winnable fight he's had in about 11 years. Nick Catone as a dog is worth the price to me. And I think Steven Siler has what takes to finish Kurt Holobaugh, and basically even money is something I'm jumping on.
1.25 unit on Bisping at -165
1 unit on Nelson at -233
.75 on Garcia at -175
.5 on Siler at --115
Last event:: UFC on Fox 7 - 1-3, -.65 unit
2013 standings: 10-22, -8.01 units
