The fights are only a few days away now, and the fighters are making their way through the media circus in the build up to Saturday's PPV. UFC 159 main card fighters Jon Jones, Chael Sonnen, Michael Bisping, Alan Belcher, Roy Nelson, and Cheick Kongo faced off for the attending press at UFC 159's media day.
A few notes:
- Nelson looked painfully unenthused for the process. So much so, that it would be hard to call whatever he was doing staring, as I think some level of focus is necessary for a stare.
- Bisping and Belcher got into it as expected, jostling and jawing at each other and exchanging threats to knock one another out.
- Jones and Sonnen went through the process by rote, but capped off the exchange with what can only be described as an awkward fadeaway-jerk handshake.
- The enforced fist clenching of Chael was pretty entertaining as well, if for nothing more than an extra insight into the incredibly staged nature of the event.
