Saturday April 27, Bloody Elbow presents live fight coverage of Showtime Boxing with Danny Garcia vs. Zab Judah in a Super Lightweight title fight. Showtime Boxing Garcia vs. Judah airs this Saturday, April 27 with a fight time of 9:00 p.m. ET. Bloody Elbow will have live fight night coverage, including results and discussion.

This is a fight that is somewhat getting lost in the shuffle of an incredibly busy few months in boxing. At the same time Garcia vs. Judah airs on Showtime, HBO will be broadcasting Sergio Martinez vs. Martin Murray live from Argentina. Even Showtime themselves have sort of brushed this fight under the rug, as their promotional efforts are (understandably) heavily focused on next weekend's huge Floyd Mayweather vs. Robert Guerrero PPV. The result is not a lot of hype behind Garcia vs. Judah.

That lack of hype is a real shame for a number of reasons. First off, this should be an exciting fight. Styles make fights, and I anticipate these two coming together in a high-energy clash.

But perhaps more importantly, this fight continues the ascension of Danny Garcia. In his last 2 fights, he has scored early KO wins over Amir Khan and Erik Morales. He's just the second man in history to stop the tough Morales. The first? Some guy named Pacquiao. In these recent outings, Garcia has shown that he is a fighter worthy of star status. And at age 25 and less than 7 years into his pro career, he's also shown that he is undeniably a fighter with a huge future ahead of him. This is a great fight for him right now - a somewhat name opponent who should put up an exciting battle on the way to being defeated. Another chance for Garcia to impress and perhaps to begin making an argument that he belongs in the pound for pound rankings.

Opening the Showtime broadcast will be Peter Quillin vs. Fernando Guerrero. Immediately after Garcia vs. Judah, Showtime will air Amir Khan vs. Julio Diaz, which takes place earlier Saturday in England.
