UFC fighter rankings: Josh Thomson cracks top 10 at LW, Daniel Cormier moves up to #2 at HW

USA TODAY Sports

Saturday's UFC on Fox 7 card marked not only a great night of fights, but a few shake-ups and changes in the official UFC rankings.

The latest UFC fighter rankings are out, and for the first time this month we're seeing a noticeable shift in a couple of the men's divisions. Josh Thomson's KO win over Nate Diaz sparked a significant change in the #5-10 part of the LW rankings. Thomson vaulted into the #8 position, while Nate Diaz fell from #4 to #6. Jim Miller takes Diaz's spot at #4 while Donald Cerrone moves up to #5. Rafael Dos Anjos and Khabib Nurmagomedov round out the top 10 while T.J. Grant stays at #7. For the record, Gilbert Melendez remains the #1 LW behind Ben Henderson.

Meanwhile, Daniel Cormier's decision win over Frank Mir put Cormier at #2 in the heavyweight division while Mir dropped to #7, immediately behind Roy Nelson and immediately ahead of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. The final major rankings change came in the flyweight division, where Darren Uyenoyama swapped the #8-#9 placing with John Lineker following his TKO loss to Joseph Benavidez.

Matt Brown's win over Jordan Mein did not put him in the top 10 at welterweight; likewise for T.J. Dillashaw at bantamweight following a stoppage victory over Hugo Viana.

You can view the full rankings list here. Fraser Coffeen, Tim Burke, T.P. Grant, Chris Hall, and Steph Daniels represented Bloody Elbow for this week's list, and you can view their individual rankings (along with countless others) by clicking on the drop-down menu.
