UFC on Fox 7 post-fight results: Brown, Mein, Thomson, and Romero receive $50,000 in bonuses

Esther Lin, MMA Fighting

See who went home $50,000 richer following tonight's wild and memorable UFC on Fox 7 card in San Jose, California.

UFC on Fox 7 was arguably one of the more entertaining and high-level events in recent memory, and the action was prevalent from the main event between Gilbert Melendez and Ben Henderson all the way down to the Facebook opener between Clifford Starks and Yoel Romero. The UFC announced its post-fight bonuses, and they are as follows:

Fight of the Night: Matt Brown vs. Jordan Mein

Knockout of the Night: Josh Thomson and Yoel Romero

Submission of the Night: NONE

Some notes to pass along out of tonight's post-fight bonuses:

  • Believe it or not, this is Matt Brown's first post-event bonus of any sort. What a way to add to his winning streak.
  • Josh Thomson, Jordan Mein, and Yoel Romero also earned their first UFC post-event bonuses, making this a clean sweep of first-time winners.
  • This is the 3rd time this year that a UFC card has ended with no submissions. UFC on Fuel 8 and UFC 158 were the others.
There were so many incredible fights and knockouts tonight that you could've given more than half of tonight's combatants a $50,000 bonus.
