Women's boxing champion Holly Holm will retire from boxing to focus on a burgeoning career in MMA.
Holm made the announcement at a press conference on Tuesday according to the Albuquerque Journal.
Holm will make her final IBA title defense against Mary McGee on May 11 and then focus on her MMA career, where she is 3-0. Holm currently fights for Bellator, and defeated Katie Merrill by TKO at Bellator 91 on February 28.
All three of Holm's victories have come by TKO.
The 31-year old is 32-2-3 in her boxing career that spans back to 2002.
Holm is also 1-0 as a kickboxer.
Holm does not currently have a second fight with Bellator lined up.
