The UFC will be returning to Vegas for their annual Independence Day card in July, and it's stacked as usual. Two of the biggest bouts on the card feature top featherweights, and those bouts are now available for betting. Cub Swanson opened as a favorite over Dennis Siver, while former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar opened as a favorite over Charles Oliveira. And bettors have swiftly widened the lines with their early money.
First off, here's how MMA Odds Breaker opened the Swanson/Siver line on 5Dimes:
And here's where it sits now (via BestFightOdds):
What about Edgar/Oliveira? Here's how MMA Odds Breaker had it originally:
And here's what it's at right now:
That's a lot of movement, especially on Edgar. In fact, the line on Edgar has basically moved up into the territory where it's not even worth touching anymore. Swanson, on the other hand, still looks pretty good to me in the -220 range. Siver has looked good in his two featherweight bouts thus far, but Swanson is more well-rounded and will have no problem engaging in a standup war with the kickboxer. I'm going to throw a little money on Swanson right now, and I'd advise you to do the same.
